Forstal Siberian Huskies

Siberian Huskies are a natural and ancient breed of sled dog, developed by the Chukchi Indians of Eastern Siberia over many centuries of co-dependence.

At Forstal Siberian Huskies all our dogs are, first and foremost, much-loved pets and members of the family. They are also, of course, working sled dogs and many are shown too.

This website gives a brief history of the Siberian Husky breed and also some of the history and philosophy behind Forstal Siberian Huskies (established 1969).

In addition there are some lovely photos of our dogs at work, at home and in other situations and there are some links to three Dog World articles. One is in 2 sections and was written by Simon Parsons on our 40th anniversary in the breed and gives some of our history up to 2009 and the other is by Sally and expresses our views about how important it is to keep the Siberian a functional, working breed, capable of fulfilling its original purpose in harness.
